Now a total of 50 villages will be displaced under the Dholpur Karauli Tiger Reserve Project soon.
According to the Forest Department, the Dholpur-Karauli Tiger Reserve is spread over two types of areas. Whose first core area is spread in around 580 sq km while the second area is spread over 495 sq km and hence a total tiger reserve area is spread over 1075 sq km. At present there are two tigers in Dholpur Tiger Reserve and three cubs including one female T-117 and the other male T-116 whose movement was seen only in the past.
The Dholpur-Karauli Tiger Reserve area is adjacent to Ranthambore, Ramgarh Vishdhari, Mukundra hills and other protected areas of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Along with this, a tiger corridor will be formed from Dholpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur to Ramgarh Vishdhari and Mukundra with the formation of Tiger Reserve of Dholpur due to which not only the tourism of Rajasthan will get a boost.
Along with Dholpur-Karauli, the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has given in-principle approval to declare Kumbhalgarh as a Tiger Reserve. Tiger reserve will be built in 2766 sq km in Kumbhalgarh.
