Gurugram, June 6 (Ajit Weekly News) A 31-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a hotel room in Gurugram, police said.

The police have also recovered a five-page suicide note from the deceased in which he blamed his wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law for the extreme step.

The police on Monday said the victim’s wife and his in-laws have been booked for alleged abetment to suicide.

According to the police, the man worked in the private sector and had checked into the hotel room in Sector-12 on May 29.

The police said on Saturday that they had received information that a man had died by suicide at the hotel, following which a team from the Sector-14 police station reached the spot.

The police recovered the body hanging inside the room and a suicide note in which the deceased alleged that his wife and her family had been harassing him and threatening to file a case against him, said a police officer.

The deceased’s brother told the police that his brother got married in 2019. Later, the couple had separated.

“After separation, his wife and his in-laws had been harassing him over marital discord and some trivial matters. His wife and her family members had filed a false case against him, which led him to take this extreme step,” the brother told the police.

The police said they have registered an FIR against the accused persons under sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code at the Sector-14 police station and were probing the allegations.

However, no arrests have been made in the case till now.
