Kerala Cong Secy Accuses KC Venugopal Of Destructing State Party Units

Chennai: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee Secretary PS Prasanth on Monday wrote to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi against AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal for destructing the party in several states of the country from the time of taking charge.

“Since he (KC Venugopal) took charge, we could witness the destruction of the party in states including Goa, Karnataka, MP, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, etc,” letter by Kerala Congress Secretary PS Prasanth read according to a tweet by ANI.

“Prasanth’s letter further read, ‘Congress workers in Kerala are doubtful whether his actions to collapse the party is in accordance with the collusion he made with BJP’,” it said.

The statement of the Kerala Congress Committee Secretary comes after two senior leaders of the party were suspended for criticizing the party’s selection of the district presidents in the media.

A statement from Kerala Congress Committee President K Sudhakaran said that former MLA K Sivadasan Nair and former KPCC general secretary KP Anil Kumar are temporarily suspended from the party for showing lack of discipline and making public statements in the media over the selection for District Congress Committee.

The All India Congress Committee on Saturday released a list of 14 people as DCCs in Kerala, which has irked senior Congress leaders in the state including Oommen Chandy. The senior leaders have been accusing that most of them were not informed about the decision.

However, the Kerala Congress Committee president said that he has clarified his stand on DCC chiefs selection and requested everyone to wait for six months to witness changes in Kerala Congress.
