Punjab: Cycle manufacturers’ association chief attacked during annual general meeting | Ludhiana News


LUDHIANA: DS Chawla, the president of the United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers’ Association (UCPMA), was allegedly manhandled by some unidentified men during the annual general meeting (AGM) of the group on Wednesday.
A group of three to four people pushed and kicked Chawla and his turban was also tossed during the incident.
It was already being anticipated that an untoward incident might take place in the meeting due to the bitterness which has increased between different factions aiming to control the managing committee of the UCPMA.
Later, a senior police officer visited the spot and examined the CCTV footage.
Meanwhile AGM resumed and ended shortly after the incident. In another development, cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu who was to attend the meeting as chief guest skipped the meeting.
