Chandigarh regains its appetite to eat out till midnight | Chandigarh News

CHANDIGARH: Hotels, restaurants and bars can stay open till 12 midnight instead of the earlier 10.30pm, but with 50% capacity. There is no night curfew. For marriages and social gatherings, an intimation and undertaking to adhere to Covid protocols is required to be submitted to the SDM instead of seeking a permission. Hockey, football and cricket academies of the sports department can function with Covid protocols and on a condition that all eligible players are vaccinated with at least the first dose. For players under 18 years of age, the consent of parents is required.
These decisions were taken in a review meeting chaired by UT administrator V P Singh Badnore on Tuesday. The administration withdrew orders related to restriction of 50% capacity of passengers for public transport.

In the meeting, Dr Jasbinder Kaur, director-principal, Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, said 800 (LPM) capacity oxygen plant has been donated to the hospital by an NGO. This is in addition to the already existing oxygen plants and is likely to be made functional in a month.
Dr Amandeep Kang, director health services, UT, said there has been no death due to Covid in August so far.
