Haryana: Government must create more jobs to control unemployment, says Bhupinder Singh Hooda | Chandigarh News

CHANDIGARH: Former chief minister and leader of the Opposition, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has expressed dissatisfaction over the decision to cancel the government recruitments.
He said after cancelling several recruitments, including PGT Sanskrit and TGT English, the government has now cancelled the appointment of junior system assistant engineer.
The selected candidates for recruitment gave a memorandum to Hooda and told how the government has played with their future.
The government had carried out recruitment for 146 posts in Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam but the government is now saying that it does not need junior system engineers, after the recruitment process was completed.
The government says it would hire temporary employees through Harton if needed.
“These 146 families have suffered a great deal due to this decision of the government as these youths also resigned from the place where they were working earlier, after getting selected in the recruitment. Now they have neither a government job nor the employment they had earlier,” he said on Monday.
The leader of Opposition, after hearing the selected candidates, said that it seems it has become a custom in this government to cancel the recruitments.
“Sometimes recruitments are getting cancelled due to government flaws, sometimes paper leaks, sometimes corruption and sometimes the government assigns other reasons. The educated youth have to bear the impact of the government’s actions and directionless policies,” he said.
Hooda said the job of the government is to create jobs, not to cancel them. “The government should understand that today the youth of Haryana is facing the highest unemployment in the country. To bring down unemployment, it is necessary that the government should recruit as many people it can, at the earliest possible,” he said.
“Thousands of posts are lying vacant in different government departments, but the government is not working to fill them. Instead of doing permanent recruitment, contract system is being promoted. What makes the situation worse is that there is a lot of corruption and exploitation of youth in the JJP-BJP government in recruitment on contract in all departments. Ending the contract system was one of the priority areas when the Congress was in government,” he said.
