Assam mechanic turned old Maruti Swift into Lamborghini replica.
A motor mechanic from Assam’s Karimganj district has developed a luxury car by using limited local resources. Nurul Haque, a motor mechanic from the Bhanga area in Karimganj district of Assam, modified an old Maruti Swift car into a sports car that looks like a model of Italian luxury car Lamborghini.
30-year-old Nurrul Haque said that he spent Rs 6.2 lakh on his project, and that he has always wanted to drive a sports car like Lamborghini.
“It was my dream to make and drive such a luxury car. I love Lamborghini cars and finally, I have modified an old Maruti Swift car into my dream car,” Nurul Haque said.
A motor mechanic by profession, Nurul owns a garage, N Maruti Car Care, in Bhanga area.
The first wave of Covid-19 lockdown forced him to sit at home with no work and he decided to make his own version of the Italian luxury car model by customising the engine of an old Maruti Swift car.
“For the past eight months, I have been engaged in my project. The total expenditure of my project is around Rs 6.2 lakh,” Nurul said.
“First, I started building parts of a Lamborghini model by watching YouTube videos. I know the price of a Lamborghini car. But it was my dream to drive that type of car and I finally made it,” Nurul said.
Haque has now become a local celebrity after he posted some pictures of his modified car on social media. Many people have come to his garage to take selfies with the car.
Nurul Haque also said that his next wish is to make a replica of Ferrari, and that he is planning to make a customised replica of another luxury sports car.
